Municipality Karojba is located in the heart of Istria and consists of four large settlements: Karojba, Motovun Novaki, Rakotul and Škropeti.
Karojba is a small place between Pazin and Motovun, today the municipal seat of that area with the Parish Church of The Saints, built in the 16th century, and there is an important Church of St. Andrew at the cemetery from the 13th century. To the west of Karojba there is Kapitolsko polje (the Capitol Field) with numbers of cultural and historical monuments as well as beautiful monuments of nature.
Karojba is known for its rich cuisine offer. Besides delicacies prepared according to old recipes, here you can taste a "maneštra" thick soup with plenty of vegetables and sometimes the addition of meat products, also made ??according to ancient recipes of their grandparents.
Inevitable are various types of homemade pastas such as "fuži", "pasutice", gnocchi, ravioli, prepared with the wild asparagus that are harvested and prepared in the spring.
Autumn delicacies are in the sign of the king of mushrooms - the truffles. The mild climate and gray clay soil provide ideal conditions for its growth.
With good meals Karojba offering vineyards and quality wines of Central Istria, is particularly recommended Malvasia, Teran and Cabernet Sauvignon.
